Name: Gabriel ("The Trickster" / "Loki")
Canon: Supernatural
Canon point: The end of 05x19; Hammer of the Gods.
History: Link

Personality:
Out of all the angels in Supernatural, it’s easy to argue that Gabriel is the most human. Due to his extended leave of absence in heaven, he’s picked up all kinds of traits and mannerisms from humans. He’s able to easily blend in with the crowd when need be, but he definitely has a tendency to be overly dramatic in both speech and actions when he's ready for the spotlight to be on himself. Deceit and sarcasm are valuable weapons of his, and he tends to be quick-witted when skirting around issues he doesn’t wish to discuss. All too often Gabriel is grinning or smirking, as if everything is one big inside joke that only he understands, and it’s not common that he actually takes things too seriously. After all, there are very, very few things that pose a threat to him, and if it comes down to it he’s perfectly capable of flawlessly faking his own death (he's had a lot of practice with that).

The only guaranteed way to get him to drop his act and fire up his temper is by talking smack about his fellow archangels, as despite Gabriel not seeing eye-to-eye with his older brothers he has the great flaw of caring too deeply. By far the most painful thing he's dealt with is seeing his two beloved brothers, Michael and Lucifer, constantly at one another's throats. He likens the Apocalypse to just another Sunday dinner with the fam, and like a lot of kids in broken families he just wants to hide somewhere until it's over. That somewhere just happened to be Earth, and his disguise just happened to be that of Loki, the Trickster.

As the Trickster, chaos and mischief were second nature, and he delighted in targeting those that were high and mighty and knocking them down a few pegs. Thanks to his powers Gabriel was capable of managing this with a snap of his fingers, though he always took the care to make sure these (sometimes deadly) pranks were carried out with a sense of irony or humor behind them. It may be that the archangel started targeting humans because they were the the catalyst that set off Lucifer; regardless, it's clear he enjoyed his jokes, and despite some of his victims ending up dead he didn’t show any remorse.

He probably would have kept up his gig until doomsday if it weren't for that problem of him caring too much. The problem with having a "thing" with a pagan goddess is that you end up with feelings for her, and the problem with being around humans so much means that you grow fond of them and maybe even want to stick up for them. And despite being so much more powerful than humans, Gabriel has come to realize that he does like them - He tends to be very sociable when he’s not playing his tricks, and very loyal beyond that. If one manages to worm their way to his good side, they’ll have a very powerful ally that will stand between them and an enemy when the situation calls for it.

Abilities:
• Immortality - Gabriel has an indefinitely long lifespan, and is unaffected by disease and toxins. He does not require food, water, oxygen, or sleep, nor does his vessel age.
• Invulnerability - He is unable to be killed by any normal weapons, however there are a select few that can get the job done such as an archangel blade or Death’s scythe.
• Shapeshifting - There have been several times that Gabriel has demonstrated his ability to alter both his body and voice to take on the guise of another.
• Superhuman strength - Despite his vessel’s size and build, Gabriel can easily manhandle those larger than himself. Considering that normal angels can toss people across a room with a single hand, it’s a simple enough matter to presume that with him being an archangel, Gabriel is capable of at least that level of strength if not more.
• Telekinesis - If he doesn’t feel like it, he doesn’t even have to lift a hand to send someone or something flying. He is adept enough with this skill that he was even able to mentally shove Lucifer hard enough to send him flying back and through a set of sturdy doors.
• Teleportation - As long as an area is not protected by Enochian sigils, Gabriel is capable of teleporting there with a thought. While other angels’ arrivals or departures may be marked by a small gust of wind, he has mastered the art of coming and going unnoticed. He is also capable of teleporting humans and lesser angels with a thought.
• Invisibility - Oftentimes this ability is used so that he might watch events from a distance or so that he can get the jump on an opponent.
• Regeneration/Healing - Angels are extremely hardy and their bodies heal quickly. However, they can also heal humans.
• Sedation - As displayed by Castiel and Michael, angels have the ability to make humans unconscious by placing two fingers on their foreheads.
• Exorcism - Angels have the ability kill/exorcise demons by placing a hand on the forehead of a possessed individual as demonstrated by Uriel and Castiel. Extremely powerful demons are immune to this ability (at least by regular-level angels), though it has not been shown whether or not that holds true in the case of an archangel.
• Supernatural perception - Angels are able to see objects and beings that are invisible to humans, such as Reapers and Enochian sigils. Similarly, unless a person’s body is branded with Enochian sigils in one way or another, they are capable of detecting exactly where that person is at any time.
• Telepathy - He has the ability to communicate using his mind, and can even read the minds of others without their permission. This can extend into something called dreamwalking, wherein they can enter and influence someone’s dreams even if they are unaware of the person’s whereabouts.
• Time travel - Like other angels, Gabriel is able to travel back and forth through time and see both events that have transpired and those that have yet to come.
• Reality alteration - Not only can he turn an empty warehouse into a pocket dimension and trap people within it, but he can alter the dimension and its contents to the last detail. Whether someone’s been abducted and probed by aliens or dropped in the middle of an episode of Dr. Sexy M.D, they’re stuck until Gabriel’s had his fun. Time loops also fall under this category; in at least one case he’s trapped people in a time loop for well over 100 days, all the while making sure that only one person realized that Tuesday kept repeating.
• Resurrection - Over the course of the aforementioned 100+ day time loop, Gabriel continuously killed off and then resurrected Dean once a day, erasing his memory of the previous day’s events.
